Mary Hodgson had a great race to finish 7th in a field of 187 runners in 22:39. Lauren Gora was next home in 28th position in 24:11. Louise Goddard in 39th position in 24:55, Sally Brassington in 61st position 26:18 and Vicky Holgate 100th in 28:31. The veteran Ladies secured a fantastic 2nd place position for the vets team and the senior team were an impressive 5th. The senior ladies team have gone top of division 3 and look favourites to take the league title.
11 Senior men turned out for the Mid Lancs Cross Country at Burnley in a strong field of 275 runners. First home for the club was Tom Humphries in a fantastic time of 34:38 to take 8th place and 2nd U20. Lee Parrington was next with a great time of 36:54 to take 23rd spot, Mark Holgate followed closely to take 26th and 4th vet in 37:10, next was James Edwards in 50th and 11th vet 38:32, Chris Corless was 56th in 38:57, John Hannah was 6th finisher to make the A team to take 62nd spot, 68th James Dalgleish 39:29, 73rd Shane Cody 39:58, 88th Ryan Hunt 40:28, 121st John Brassington in 41:47 and Andy Clokey ran through the pain barrier to finish in 45:19 to take 187th.
The Senior Men A team have secured the division 3 title and the Vets are Division 2 champions, despite there being 2 fixtures to go. Still lots to aim for with the men’s ‘B’ team in with a realistic chance of winning division 4.
