This weekend saw the second Mid Lancs Cross Country fixture for Lancaster & Morecambe Athletes

. Sefton Park, Liverpool is where we headed off for what was to be the biggest race of the Mid Lancs fixtures, as it is combined in with the British Athletic Cross Challenge race.

Our youngest and Eldest teams proved themselves to be in fine form, U11 girls Evie Robinson, Anna Nicholson and Erin Gillan finished 6th, 7th and 17th to place them 1st overall in the team results. Mark Holgate, Sean Bolland, James Dalgleish and Kevin Wilson all tackled the tough course finishing, 4th, 6th, 7th and 21st placing them comfortably as the 1st overall Vets over 40 team.

Our Under 15 girls, Larissa Hannam, Kirsty Maher and Amelie Earnshaw finished in a well-earned 4th team place holding off 5th and 6th place teams by 1 point.

Rhys Ashton proved what fantastic form he is in by storming home to victory, with Tobias Swarbrick in 11th and Alex Blessington in 37th placing them also in 4th place.

Finally, our senior men of Beau Smith, David Brown, Lee Parrington, Raymond Edgar, Mark Leadbeatter and Mark Holgate, ran an amazing race placing them as 4th senior men’s team.

We had many more individual & Team results, all of which were hard fought and well deserved, proving what a great season Lancaster & Morecambe AC have ahead of us, with some very talented individuals.
