The 2022 award winners of the Arnold Bibby Award were announced recently.

 

The club, for many years, has enjoyed being part of the International Youth Games - travelling to Aalborg, Almere and Rendsburg or hosting ourselves.

 

The 22nd edition of the Lancaster & Morecambe AC’s 4k festive fun run went ahead this year on Wednesday 28th December.

 

The University offers a range of  services with some being free of charge to support the development, performance and health of your athletes at different levels of participation and performance. The services are run by our students providing them with the opportunity of working with athletes in different contexts. fully supported and supervised by our expert staff. These services include:

The recipients of the inaugural Arnold Bibby Award for 2021 were presented with shields on Tuesday 8th February at the Arnold Bibby clubhouse

The 2022 Senior Championship races have now been decided and are as follows

Arnold Bibby was a founder member of Lancaster & Morecambe AC – who sadly passed away in 2019.

Sunday 4th October 2020, London Marathon day, Lancaster & Morecambe AC junior endurance athletes ran the well know London Mini Marathon whilst  our marathon runners were running the gruelling 26.2 miles.

 

This is a the second 4 week programme for 5k distances.

The club has learned of the sad death of of one of our members, Graham Lawton, at the age of 43.

The England Athletics Hall of Fame honours those people who have made outstanding contributions to athletics and running.

On Saturday 26th January 32 of the seniors from LMAC got together for a meal at Molly’s in Lancaster which also included a “Chairpersons Award presentation” for the road runner of the year.

This weekend saw the second Mid Lancs Cross Country fixture for Lancaster & Morecambe Athletes

A wet and windy Ulverston was the venue for the first Mid Lancs cross country of the season.

Committed and dedicated are the words most used to describe Lancaster & Morecambe AC’s longest serving coach.

Ulverston was the fixture for the final Mid Lancs cross country,

For evergreen Evelyn Elkington now in her 82nd year and nearing completion of 34 years as a runner primarily a road runner,

On Wednesday 27th December a record field of over 400 runners took part in the annual Festive 4k Fun Run organised by Lancaster & Morecambe Athletic Club

Lancaster & Morecambe Athletics Club has now become a learning destination for Childrens University

The urge to push ourselves, whether its physically, mentally or emotionally, is something many of us share.

As we’re sure you know our Andrew Shanley is taking on the Brathay 10 in 10 challenge. That is running the course of the Windermere Brathay Marathon 10 times – in 10 days to raise funds for the trust which works with disadvantaged and vulnerable children.
