Six Lancaster and Morecambe athletes took part in the Darwen Heritage Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd April 2016.
The day started with Ben visiting Heysham St. Peters Primary school for a morning assembly, about the 401 challenge, his reasons for doing it and the shear scale of the challenge in numbers such as the length of the day’s marathon being 786 times around their playground and the total mileage for the challenge being over 10,500 miles or Morecambe to Sydney.
Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club runners Carole and David Wilkinson celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary in Paphos, Cyprus.
Being a fan of this series of trail races the dirty double was something I’d always wanted to try – but due to other commitments I’ve never been able to fit both in. For those of you who don’t know it consists of a 15K trial race round Helvelyn on the Saturday and the Sunday it’s a 14K. Both race start from Glenridding – but the Sunday one – starts with cruise to the start on opposite side of the lake before basically you run round the southern end of the lake back to Glenridding.
August had loomed up pretty quickly on my race calendar, and it's fair to say the Prudent Riverside 10 had crept up on me.
Lancaster & Morecambe AC carried on their winning ways at the weekend with a storming performance at the Manchester Terry Nortley 2 miles Road Relay.
It was a memorable day for Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club at the Brathay Windermere Marathon in Ambleside.
Two LMAC members help to bring in the Ladies Team Trophy at the Keswick to Barrow (K2B) Walk by setting a new course record of 8 hours 24 minutes on Saturday 9 May.
