On 11 March, eight athletes from the club (including Junior Allan Sumner) travelled to Abbey Village near Chorley to run the Roddlesworth Roller and Daffodil Doddle.

Young Allan ran the 2.2k Doddle in a great time of 9.05 which was just 1.30 behind the winner.

The senior runners ran the 9k Roller which was described by the Race Director as an undulating 9k off-road race. This was true if undulating means a killer hill up and a long run down – mainly on forest tracks. The weather was fine though. Most of the club runners said they enjoyed the race and would do it again – but didn’t specify a year. And the home made cakes were delicious.

Despite the tough route, there were good times from all the runners. Russell Wareing was first for LMAC in a time of 43.46. He was followed by Alan Sumner (young Allan’s Dad) in 44.44, Ben Ransome (45.04), Angus Murray (46.44), Patrick Corbett (49.54), Christina McGuire (50.31), and Emily Stapleton (52. 38)

All in all, it was a grand day out
