As we all start to live in a ‘New Normal’ world it was interesting to see how running event may be able to take place post Lockdown.

5 ladies turned out for Mid Lancs Cross Country at Burnley on Saturday 11th Jan.

Didcot parkrun in Oxfordshire was our warm-up for our “proper” race on Sunday 24th November.  Muddy grass 3 laps round a field – I could maybe one day get myself a pair of trail shoes and join the LMAC Senior ladies XC team…..I did say maybe!  Yes, I did actually enjoy the parkrun.  Moving on…………

The senior men's cross country team were at Liverpool on 23rd November. The team had another fantastic turn out  with 15 runners arriving at a very muddy Sefton Park.

So the seniors road running championship 2019 came to an end and we had 22 club runners turning out – one of best attended races of year (along with 22 at Garstang earlier in year).

Hydburn Cross Country saw a record number of 18 senior men representing LMAC in a strong field of 274 finishers.

Well on Sunday, 3rd of November, I experienced my first trail marathon with IGUN, ( it's grim up north).

The first fixture of the Mid Lancs cross-country league was at Ulverston on 28th September

I wrote an article last year on my account of completing the Lakeland 50 and thought I ought to follow this up with a brief account of my successful completion of the Lakeland 100 this year.

Several months ago Lancaster and Morecambe AC member David Wilkinson decided to take up a 60th birthday challenge by entering the St Anton Arlberg marathon in the Austrian Alps.

LMAC had 6 veterans running at the British Masters 5k road championships in Horwich.

Father and Daughter team David Wilkinson (Lancaster and Morecambe AC), Nadine Parsons (Garstang RC) travelled to Cyprus to compete in the 21st Paphos Marathon on Sunday 17th March 2019.

Lancaster & Morecambe AC’s road runners have got off to a flying start in 2019, with 28 of the club’s runners taking part at the Garstang 10km last weekend,

Father and daughter team up again for the Chester Marathon.

Whilst on holiday in Scotland Senior Road Race Member David Wilkinson decided to enter the long established Highland Games Half Marathon at Nairn

Montane Lakeland 50,Saturday 28 July 2018,

Lancaster and Morecambe Athletic Club senior men’s team decided to tackle the notoriously difficult but beautiful North Wales Half Marathon on Saturday 21 July.

On Sunday, 20th May, 2018, I completed the Liverpool Rock and Roll Marathon. Annes Story

On Sunday 8th April a few of our club runners took on the 26.2 miles of the Manchester Marathon...you can read the reports below.

I can’t honestly believe the weekend I’ve just had.

Lancaster & Morecambe AC's road runners have got 2018 off to a successful start, with great performances from many runners at local events.

So the senior road running championships are now over

Last weekend saw the National Cross Country Relays at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield. As well as a small junior section taking part the club also entered a Senior Men's team which would take on the challenging 4x5km cross-country route.

My name is Linda Walker and I am 54 years of age. I began running in January 2016 when Lancaster parkrun was born.

There were a good number of Lancaster & Morecambe AC runners taking part in the the Wigan 10k, which attracted a big field of 3000 finishers. The race was the first in the club's road race championships and four of the runners took advantage of the fast course to achieve personal best times.

The road runners of Lancaster & Morecambe AC have been busy racing around the region in the past month.

The 37th London Marathon took place last Sunday and among the record 39,487 finishers tackling the 26.2 miles were six Lancaster & Morecambe AC runners.

I went down to London on Saturday to run the London Marathon.

Lancaster and Morecambe Athletic Club Members Carole and David Wilkinson were on holiday in Shropshire and entered the Lilleshall Monumental Multi Terrain 10K Race.
