Lancaster and Morecambe AC athlete, Louise Gardner has been selected to represent England at Half Marathon distance. Let’s all join in wishing her well, and remember Louise. Pain is momentary, glory lasts forever.

Local athlete selected to run for England

Louise Gardner, who is a leading member of Morecambe & Lancaster AC, has been selected to run for England in a high profile half marathon race in Dunfermline, Scotland. This is their 25th anniversary race and takes place on Sunday June 13th.

To celebrate this special anniversary, Dunfermline will host the first UK home international challenge. Invitations have been sent around the world for teams to take part from Europe, North America and Africa so the race will be a great experience for Louise.

Her selection follows excellent performances in local races at a range of distances, from 5k to the Trimpell 20 mile race, and her very high placing in the London marathon in April where she recorded a fantastic personal best time of 2 hours 44 minutes.
