Lancaster & Morecambe AC hosted its annual summer 10k road race last Wednesday evening and over 200 runners lined up on the cycle track next to Salt Ayre to tackle the course.
Winner of the race was Jed Bartlett from Barrow & Furness Striders who won in 33m.43 from second place Steven Chew from Wharfedale Harriers in 34m.07. Lancaster & Morecambe’s David Brown continued his good vein of form to take third position with an excellent run of 34m.54.
David was well backed up by team mates Tony Jewitt who ran well to finish 13th in 36m.59 and in 32nd was Craig Mepsley in 40m.09.
First woman from Lancaster & Morecambe AC was Joanne Taylor, with a super run of 42m.44 placing her fourth female overall. Jayne Perry took fifth position with a fine run of 43m.09 and was followed by Louise Goddard in45m.28.
