Lancaster and Morecambe AC athletes took part in the Summer Ulverston 10k road race last week and came away with several prizes.
The men’s team took first prize with John Carr leading them home in a fantastic time of 35m.42, earning him first vet 45 position and ninth overall. Next was track runner Mark Gardner who set off hard and bravely hung on to take 12th place in a personal best time of 36m.16. Completing the team was Allan Gordon, who ran a well paced race to finish strongly with a massive PB time of 37m.26, taking three minutes off his previous best.
First woman in the race was Lancaster’s Louise Gardner, overtaking throughout the race to finish eighth overall in a good time of 35m.39. Next for the club was Tracey Bruce with yet another great performance, finishing in 48m.20 and she was followed by Carole Wilkinson running well in 50m.25.
