Then I started and did my first parkrun in April 2015.
3 years later I joined LMAC – I didn’t think an Athletics Club worked for people like me, but I was so wrong. They boosted my performance with their excellent training sessions and advice.
A few months ago I got a massive Half Marathon PB in 85 minutes at the England Qualifying event , winning the first place prize as a Vet 60.
This Sunday my heart will be pumping with pride as I wear my vest in the England team competing in an International event in Hampshire.
Proud and Amazed does not even start to describe my feelings.
When I qualified I told Linda we had to travel “down South” for the event and was that ok?. She said, yes if I can run too. It is a race open to the public too so that’s a YES.
Injury has made preparation difficult, but I am ready, and will run my socks off !!
