It's been a busy weekend for our elder Junior atheltes. And there's more to come.

On Saturday 16th May 2015 Scarlet Dale represented Cumbria in the inter counties Fell Championships held at Betws-y-Coed, Wales where she took the individual gold medal and team silver medal.

On the same day Saturday 16th May a small team of athletes travelled to Bolton for the Upper Age Group Youth Development League second round match in the North West Division 2. The athletes worked hard to finish an excellent 5th competing against much larger teams.

U20 woman Zoe Lynch set a new club record in the hammer, which was also a senior club record with a throw of 31.97m. It also earned her the female athlete of the match accolade.

There was a personal best in the U20 men’s events for Callum Hannam with a javelin throw of 11.71m. Callum also recorded a distance of 10.25m in his first discus event.  Also representing the Under 20 men, Matthew Sandham recorded new best times in the 100m of 12.7s, he threw a new best distance of 30.51m in the javelin, and recorded 5.16m in the long jump. Matthew’s achievements were rewarded with the male athlete of the match award.

In the under 17 men’s category Dominic O’Garrow produced another best time in the 100m hurdles of 18.2s and in the long jump recorded a new best distance of 4.59m. Jamie Hardy set a benchmark in the 1500m of 5:27.5.

The athletes are back in action this weekend with their County Track & Field Championships.
