Arguably one of the finest athletes to ever pull on the Lancaster & Morecambe AC vest is Mark Croasdale.

Mark currently holds all of our male road club road records and his career saw him excel at an incredible range of distances & terrains.

Mark was exceptional on the road, masterful on the fells and equally at home on the cross country circuit but was always available to tear it up on the track when the team needed him.

His supreme achievements included a 2hrs 17mins Marathon and Mark is acknowledged as the clubs greatest male distance runner to date with this achievement and his subsequent performances.

Mark was even challenged in 2002 to race a horse around Llanwrtyd Wells, on that occasion the horse won but Mark never gave up without a fight!

Within his role with the Royal Navy Mark proved an exceptional Cross Country Skier and travelled around the world to compete, all these feats demonstrated the talent and strength Mark had at his disposal.

Mark held many titles ranging from County Champion, English Champion and even British titles on Country & Fells but Mark always made time for the 6 or 12 stage relays.

Mark was a hugely popular club member and was an exceptional role model for the club and represented the club at local events many times.

A long-serving servant to our sport Mark currently is the Team GB Mountain Running team manager & is a mentor for many of the team as they compete around the world.
