Mark Gardner , Level 2 UKA Athletics Coach

 

Joined 1988

 

Mark has held a Level 2 Coaching Licence since 2002 and in that time coached athletes from 100m/200m right through to Half Marathon. 

 

As an athlete, Mark has vast experience from Sportshall Athletics as a Junior right through to International Masters Events and has the following medals & appearances.

Between 2007-2014 in his professional capacity in Sefton, Mark was responsible for recruitment, mentoring and supporting coaches who then went onto work with local primary schools & for Southport Waterloo AC.  

 

Mark is currently coaching a number of talented junior middle distance athletes, a couple of middle distance seniors and a rapidly improving female distance runner. 

 

Mark follows the ethos of Kevin Durant that hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. Mark has worked with some well-recognised & exceptional coaches such as Andy Bibby, Frank McGuire, Jamie Quarry, Ron Scott & Dave Morley which have helped shape his coaching approach.
